Ok here we Goooo ! ... So, What I've been working on ?
I've been primarily focusing on intensifying my songwriting, which is what brings me the most joy and makes me lose track of time. I've been working on several songs that I'd like to tell you about.
These include "Picnic Trip," "Vicky" (which I've now renamed "Tequila Sunrise"), and "Hey Girl."
Let's start with the song "Vicky."
It was originally inspired by a photo I stumbled upon on Facebook, posted by my friend Vicky. The photo depicts a young couple sitting on a fence, smiling at each other during a simple winter moment. It exudes genuine love, and it deeply touched me
. I decided to create a song based on this photo, and I've been working on it for a few weeks now. I've renamed it "Tequila Sunrise" because those are the lyrics that came to me naturally on the chorus and 3 it fits perfectly with the music and the nostalgic '80s vibe I'm going for.
The song captures the essence of love portrayed in the photo and transports the listener back to the '80s, a decade that had a diverse range of incredible music. "Tequila Sunrise" was also a popular cocktail during that time.
Although the song is not yet finished, I wanted to give you a sneak peek of it.

Next up, "Picnic Trip."
I briefly mentioned it in the previous newsletter, "Newsletter Zero."
It's a song inspired by my bike adventures in the countryside when I was an adolescent, living with my parents in our countryside house in the southwest of France.
The song is now fully written, but it's yet to be produced. I'm unsure about the release date, but I'll keep you posted. Here's a sneak peek of "Picnic Trip"

And finally, "Hey Girl."
This song has been in the back burner for some time now.
A couple of weeks ago, I stumbled upon it and couldn't bear the thought of leaving it forgotten. I love the melody and the vibe it carries. So, I've decided to finish it along with all the other unfinished songs that have been collecting dust.
Although I may not release all of them as fully produced tracks due to budget constraints, I'll find a way to share them.
For starters I will perform them while busking on the streets or doings shows here in Manchester.
I believe these songs deserve to see the light of day and find their audience.
"Hey Girl" is a simple love song capturing the blissful and carefree essence of early-stage love. I've experienced it before, and I hope to experience it again. Here's a sneak peek of "Hey Girl"

This last weeks I’ve been mostly…
But I digress. So what have I been up to these past few weeks?
Well, I've been getting back into songwriting, which has been really good for me. There are so many things to do to make the project move forward that I had put it aside for a while.
But frankly I love it too much, it's what really makes me tick and I can spend hours on end in a kind of meditative state where time doesn't exist anymore.
Speaking of songwriting and springtime, I've started working on a new song called “Picnic Trip”
It is inspired by the bike rides I used to take in the springtime in the countryside of southwestern France when I was a teenager.
I had my own little secret spot near a stream where I used to have my picnic in solitude with my favorite food: croques monsieur.
I'll keep you posted on the evolution of the writing of this song.!
Here I’m writing the strings for “Picnic Trip” :
I also did a mini-concert at the Whiskey Jar a pub in the Northern Quarter where I played three songs.
Here’s a video of the best moment of the night!
Honestly I almost didn't go because I was in the middle of a water fast that I didn't want to break and I wasn't feeling great.
But I kicked my ass to show up anyway and boy didn't I regret it: there was a crazy atmosphere. The audience started to clap and sing along to my choruses: I didn't expect that!
It was so heartwarming. A long time ago back in France I had this crazy dream : to come and sing my songs and touch the hearts in the country of Shakespeare. Yeah! And now, damn it, the dream is becoming reality!
Well, it hasn’t been easy every day, I must admit that here and there it rained a few anvils and assholes along the way (you know … those nay -nay -nay -naysayers) ^^ but my enthusiasm was, and will always be my umbrella!
And to quote Moki in the wonderful video game Ori and the Will of the Wisp: Enthusiasm makes everything an adventure.
So thanks to you for following the Adventures of Coeur Vaillant,
Stay tuned & see you around!
Yours truly,
