Coeur vaillant

The intrepid adventurer whose love for music freed his childlike soul.

Cœur Vaillant (pronounced “Kirvayan”) is a story of struggle for unity and love in an impulse of timeless nobility. It reconciles Pop and Classical, while elegant with a dreamy aesthetic, without depriving itself of touches of crazy humor and full of freshness. His influences from Mozart, Serge Gainsbourg, Laurent Voulzy or even The Beatles, give him a singularity of his own.

With a unique blend of pop-rock, he also dares the presence of a string quartet in all his tracks, all sprinkled with jazzy influences. The melody is one of the strong points of Coeur Vaillant. They make us vibrate and stay in our head. We immediately want to hum them.

When he was a child, in Africa, my father was in the scouts, their section was called the “Coeur Vaillants” - the valiant hearts.

When I was a baby in Paris, my father worked in the hi-fi business and regularly brought home vinyl records of very good classical music compilations. He was in the scouts, in the "Coeurs Vaillants" section, and often sang songs. That's how I discovered music… and how I was inspired by my artist name.

Spring Always Returns - Debut Single’s Music Video

We went through several scenario ideas, which were  romantic and compelling, but my intuition kept telling me there was a way to do this in a much original way and without breaking the bank.

As I was  thinking: “what could make people stop scrolling when they see the video in their Instagram Feed?” the image of me singing on the toilets popped into my mind.  I ditched it at first, but then it kept coming back: “and what if? What if I could make this work? “

The rest is history and I’m proud to say that Spring Always Returns Music Video is the first  filmed entirely inside a toilet, and that it’s totally faithful to the song and Coeur Vaillant’s personality and universe.
